The Ukrainian embassy in the United States has received a license to export helmets and body armor of the third type according to the American classification, which corresponds to Class 4 in Ukrainian, and can now officially ship them to Ukraine, said Oksana Markarova, Ukraine's ambassador to the United States.

"Extraordinary times require non-standard solutions," Markarova wrote on Facebook on April 8.

She added that the embassy has also worked out a "full mechanism" for obtaining licenses for other types of vests and the necessary protective gear for Ukrainian defenders and has partners to send.

"For communication on this subject, write to us at the specially created box (hidden)," she wrote.

Earlier, the Pentagon said the U.S. has announced more than $1.7 billion in security assistance to Ukraine since the start of Russia's full-scale invasion on Feb. 24, and a total of $2.4 billion since the start of Joe Biden's administration.
