Russia continues regrouping troops for an offensive attempt in eastern Ukraine - AFU General Staff

Russian forces continue regrouping in order to form an offensive grouping in eastern Ukraine and are also building up their aviation component and command and control systems, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported.

"The main efforts of the enemy focus on capturing the city of Mariupol, conducting an offensive near Izyum and attempting to break through the defenses in the Donetsk direction," the General Staff wrote on Facebook.

In the South Bug direction, the enemy is trying to prevent further advance of Ukrainian AFU units and improve the tactical position of its units in some areas.

In the Volyn direction there is a probability of enemy missile and bomb attacks on military and civilian infrastructure facilities from the territory of the Republic of Belarus.

In the Polessk direction, the enemy did not conduct active operations; the occupant units withdrawn to the territory of the Republic of Belarus perform demonstration actions to prevent the transfer of the AFU units from the specified area to other directions.

Certain units of the Russian occupants from the Eastern Military District and airborne troops of the armed forces of the Russian Federation, which after withdrawal from Ukraine restore their combat efficiency and regroup in the territory of the Republic of Belarus, are likely to be sent to strengthen the grouping of enemy troops in the Slobozhansky direction.

In the Siver direction, the enemy is completing regrouping and re-equipping the units of the Central Military District in certain areas of the Bryansk and Kursk regions. It is not ruled out that these units may be further deployed to other operational areas, including for combat operations in the Donetsk and Luhansk directions.

In the Slobozhansky direction, the Russian troops are taking active measures to build up the command and communications system in the interests of the offensive grouping of troops.

Near Kharkiv, up to five battalion tactical groups of the enemy continue to blockade the city and bombard it with multiple rocket launchers, artillery and mortars.

The occupiers hold the town of Izyum and attempt to continue their offensive in the direction of Slovyansk and Barvenkovo.

In the Donetsk and Tavrichesk directions, the enemy continues to fire and conduct assault operations. It carries out rocket and bomb attacks and artillery fire on civilian infrastructure in populated areas. The port of Berdyansk is used by the occupants to overturn weapons, military equipment and personnel.

The enemy has also intensified efforts in the Severodonetsk direction. Trying to continue the offensive in the areas of Donetskoye, Novotoshkovskoye and Popasnaya settlements.

The enemy also attempted an offensive in the areas of Marinka, Borovskoye and Sladkoye. The offensive attempts were unsuccessful.

The General Staff expects that the occupants will soon try to break through the Ukrainian defenses in the Severodonetsk, Avdeevka and Kurakhovo districts.

In the Yuzhnobuzhsk direction the enemy fired artillery and used army aviation in some directions. Attempts to continue the offensive in the direction of the village of Aleksandrovka.

Enemy ship groups in the Black Sea and Sea of Azov continue to launch missile attacks on Ukrainian territory, perform tasks to isolate the area of combat operations and conduct reconnaissance.

The occupation authorities continue to restrict the rights of Ukrainian citizens in the temporarily occupied territories. For example, in Zaporizhzhia region, the Russian occupants have banned men from travelling to the territory under the control of the Ukrainian authorities. There has also been an increase in the shortage of essential goods, especially foodstuffs, which could further complicate the humanitarian situation in the region occupied by the Russian occupiers.

The Ukrainian defense forces, while inflicting damage, continue to push back the enemy and liberate the territories temporarily occupied by the occupiers in certain directions.
