Russia said that the draft peace treaty is not ready yet

A member of the Russian delegation to the negotiations, Vladimir Medinskiy, said that the draft peace agreement between Russia and Ukraine was not ready yet. He believes that Ukraine needs to "do a lot of work.

Medinsky told Interfax.

"Regarding the readiness of the draft treaty for the summit meeting - to my great regret I do not share Arahamia's optimism. We still have a lot of work to do. And I see that Ukraine's diplomatic and military services, as it seems to me, are far behind in implementing even those agreements that have already been reached at the political level," the Russian negotiator said.

At that Medinskiy noted that Ukraine "has a more realistic approach to a number of issues". According to him, the previously agreed positions are: neutral non-aligned non-nuclear status; refusal to host foreign military bases, troops, offensive weapons, development and production of weapons of mass destruction; conducting exercises with the participation of foreign troops with the permission of guarantor states; creation of a system of international security guarantees.

We shall remind you that yesterday, the head of the Ukrainian negotiating team, David Arahamiya, said that Russia was generally ready to accept Ukraine's proposals, but the Crimea issue remained an exception.
