A former British intelligence officer, MI6 Christopher Steele, suggests that Russian dictator Putin will not catch a peace treaty after the war against Ukraine is over, because his entourage may kill or remove him from power. This was reported by Sky News.
"I don't see how we can trust Putin in any peace agreement that will be made now, and I don't see how we can do business and negotiate with him normally in the future," Steele said.
The former British intelligence officer believes that the war in Ukraine will end with some kind of agreement, but Putin will not catch that moment because he will be eliminated by his own entourage.
"I think it will end with some kind of agreement, but that agreement is a long way off, and I think it probably won't include Vladimir Putin. I think he may well be removed from the top leadership, or even possibly killed by his own people," Steele said.
According to the media, the Russian president replaced about 1,000 of his personal staff and aides in February. He is afraid that he may be poisoned.
