Russian units, having suffered heavy losses, are forced to return to the territory of Belarus and Russia. They are retreating to re-form and resupply.

This was reported by the British Ministry of Defense on Twitter.

"Such activity puts additional pressure on Russia's already strained logistics and demonstrates the difficulties Russia faces in reorganizing its units in forward areas of Ukraine," the report said.

Britain's Defense Ministry notes that Russia is likely to continue to compensate for its limited ground maneuvering capabilities with massive artillery and missile strikes.

"Russia's stated focus on the offensive in Donetsk and Luhansk is likely a tacit admission that it is struggling to maintain more than one significant offensive line," the report said.

As a reminder, on March 29, Moscow announced plans to "sharply reduce military activity" near Kyiv and Chernihiv. The AFU General Staff subsequently said that the Russian Federation was withdrawing individual units from the territory of Kyiv and Chernihiv regions and was regrouping in order to concentrate its efforts on the Slobozhansky and Donetsk directions. At the same time, the invaders continue to blockade Chernihiv and Kharkiv, and in the direction of Brovary they are trying to hold previously occupied positions.
