Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba called on all states to criminalize the public use of the "Z" symbol of the Russian occupiers.

"I call on all states to criminalize the use of the symbol "Z" as a way to publicly support Russia's invading war against Ukraine. "Z" stands for Russian war crimes, bombed cities, thousands of murdered Ukrainians. Public support for this barbarism should be banned," Kuleba wrote on Twitter.

Note that in Latvia, the tallest houses, which were called Z-Towers, were renamed to Zunda Towers.

There is also information that the display of the letter Z as a symbol of support for the Russian military in Ukraine will be considered illegal in Germany.

"Russia's aggressive war against Ukraine is a criminal act, and anyone who publicly endorses this aggressive war can also be prosecuted," a German Interior Ministry official told reporters.

The symbol will only fall under the ban when its use is linked to support for Russian actions in Ukraine.

"The letter Z as such is certainly not banned, but its use in individual cases may represent an endorsement of Russia's war of aggression," the German Foreign Ministry said.
