The General Staff of the Ukrainian armed forces announced the situation on the front as of 12:00 22.03.2022.
According to the General Staff, on the twenty-seventh day of the heroic opposition of the Ukrainian people to the Russian military invasion, the tasks determined by the criminal military and political leadership of Russia to the group of occupation troops of the armed forces of the Russian Federation remain unfulfilled.
"Given the lack of success in the ground phase of the operation, the enemy continues to actively strike and bomb important military and civilian infrastructure using operational-tactical aviation, high-precision missile weapons and indiscriminate ammunition," the AFU General Staff notes on its FB page.
The enemy is trying to form and move reserves to the borders of Ukraine. According to available information, at the permanent deployment point of the 200 separate motorized rifle brigade of the Northern Fleet (the settlement of Pechenga) is forming a combined unit of soldiers from several military units.
"Due to the unsatisfactory level of manning of the fighters of the 1st Army Corps in the temporarily occupied territory of the Donetsk region, representatives of the Russian Federation continue active measures for forced mobilization of the local population in the cities of Gorlovka, Yenakiyevo and nearby settlements. After undergoing a rapid training course, the occupiers plan to reinforce the said personnel with units that suffered heavy losses near Avdeevka and Izyum.No active offensive actions by the enemy have been recorded in the Polessk direction. The regrouping, consolidation in the seized lines and logistical support of the troops is under way," the General Staff notes.
In the Seversk direction some units of the Central Military District continue to regroup and concentrate forces and equipment for the resumption of the offensive.
In the direction of Chernihiv, the enemy does not conduct active offensive actions, continues artillery shelling of the positions of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and the city of Chernihiv. No changes in the composition of forces and the nature of action of the grouping of occupation troops were noted.
In the direction of Brovary, the enemy continues regrouping in order to resume offensive actions. Logistic support of units and engineering equipment of occupied positions is underway.
In the Slobozhansky direction the units of the Western Military District did not conduct active offensive operations. In the directions to Kharkiv and Izyum, the enemy is trying to carry out activities to restore the units that have lost combat effectiveness at the expense of some units of the Baltic and Northern Fleet. Massive artillery shelling of Kharkiv continues.
In the Donetsk direction, the enemy concentrated its main efforts on capturing the towns of Rubezhnoye, Severodonetsk, Popasna, Ugledar and Mariupol.
The enemy did not take any active action in the area of Kremenna. In the vicinity of Yampol, a separate unit from the 150th Motorized Rifle Division, the enemy exerted fire on our troops in order to ensure further advance towards Torskoye. No luck was had.
"In the direction of Donetsk - Marinka the enemy attempted an offensive. It had no success, suffered significant losses and retreated.
The Russian occupants are trying to conduct artillery shelling and assault actions in the city of Mariupol.
No changes in the enemy's composition and position are recorded in the Tauride direction. In the Kherson region, in the areas of Kalanchak, Radensk, Brilovka and Tarasovka settlements, Rosgvardiya units carried out filtration activities to search for small arms storage sites.
In the South Bug direction, a certain group of the enemy attempted to conduct an assault in the area of the village of Aleksandrovka, without success. In the vicinity of Bereznovatoe settlement, it reconnoitered with combat, suffered losses and withdrew," the AFU General Staff notes.
