Progress in the talks between Moscow and Kiev is still not enough for a meeting between Putin and Zelensky - Peskov

Progress in the negotiations between Russia and Ukraine is insufficient to talk about contacts between the presidents of the two countries, Vladimir Putin and Volodymyr Zelensky, Russian presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov said.

"The degree of progress in the negotiations is probably not as much as we would like, and not as the dynamics of the situation require for the Ukrainian side," he told reporters when asked about the state of the negotiation process at the moment, and whether it was possible to find points of convergence.

At the same time, Peskov refused to talk about the details of the negotiations.

Speaking about the prospects for contacts between the leaders of the two countries, the Kremlin spokesman noted that "in order to talk about a meeting between the two presidents, we need to do our homework first - conduct and coordinate the results of negotiations."

"So far no significant progress has been made. They (the presidents) will simply have nothing to fix, there are no agreements that they can fix," he added.
