Operational information as of 18.00 17.03.2022 on the Russian invasion.
The heroic resistance of the Ukrainian people to the Russian military invasion is in its twenty-second day.
The occupation forces have lost their offensive potential and are stopped in all directions. The enemy has significant logistical problems and continues to take damage. In some directions blocks units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
Due to the fact that the enemy used almost the entire set of sea-launched Kalibr cruise missiles and Iskander operational-tactical missile systems during the first twenty days of the operation, it continues rocket and bomb attacks on infrastructure facilities and residential areas of major cities using indiscriminate weapons.
In violation of the requirements of International Humanitarian Law, the Russian occupiers continue to take hostages and kill civilians, shoot civilian vehicles, obstruct the movement of humanitarian convoys to evacuate the population with defined and mutually agreed upon "green corridors", and use civilian infrastructure facilities to deploy weapons and equipment.
The enemy continues to hold the Ukrainian city of Mariupol under siege and has proceeded to total destruction of civilian infrastructure, residential buildings and life support facilities, thus creating prerequisites for deepening the humanitarian crisis in the city.
In order to intimidate the civilian population in the temporarily occupied territories, the invaders have resorted to the abduction and detention of representatives of government and local authorities.
In addition to units of the Russian armed forces, the presence of police officers of the Krasnodar Territory and Crimea temporarily occupied by the Russians has been recorded in the Kherson region. Operational groups of the FSB perform punitive functions. The enemy is agitating to involve the local population in the so-called "police".
According to available information, due to the impossibility of quality manning of the grouping of occupation troops, the next wave of mobilization into the ranks of the 1st Army Corps in the temporarily occupied territories of Donetsk region begins on March 20 this year.
The aviation units of the 960th Attack Aviation Regiment of the 4th Army of the Russian Armed Forces suffered significant losses. Moral and psychological state of the flying personnel is extremely unsatisfactory. Reports continue to be submitted for resignation due to unwillingness to participate in combat operations on the territory of Ukraine.
The Ukrainian defenders inflicted significant losses on the units of the 252nd Motorized Rifle Regiment of the Western Military District fighting in the areas of Kharkiv and Izyum. Up to 30 per cent of personnel, weapons and military equipment were lost. In addition, units of the defence forces eliminated the commander of the 3rd Motorized Rifle Division, Colonel Igor Nikolayev.
