Russian President Vladimir Putin may meet with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky in the next few weeks. But only after a peace treaty is agreed upon. This was reported in an interview for wp.pl by Mikhail Podolyak, adviser to the head of the presidential office.
According to him, as of today, the Russian and Ukrainian delegations remain at their positions, and the agreement of the controversial points may take from several days to a week and a half. During this time, the parties should come closer to a peace agreement.
"As soon as the agreement is finalized, we will begin organizing a meeting between Putin and Zelensky. This will happen in the coming weeks. The place does not matter to us. It can be any place but Russia," Podolyak noted.
He also noted that the Ukrainian side is not yet focusing on whether Zelensky can shake hands with Putin.
"After the foundations of the peace treaty are worked out, we will consider an appropriate model of behavior at the meeting of the presidents. The handshake issue is the least of our concerns," he added.
