We are confident that a cease-fire will be achieved in the coming days - Podolyak

In the next few days in Ukraine it will be possible to cease fire from Russia, the advisor to the head of the Office of the President Mykhail Podolyak is convinced. He said this in an interview with PBS news, excerpts of which he shared in Telegram.

According to Podolyak, the main reason for this confidence is due to the occupiers' lack of resources for further confrontation.

"The Russians have used all the resources they planned to use in this war. They have no reserves and no supply chain. They planned to introduce troops, capture as much territory as possible in three days and essentially conduct a blitzkrieg. They haven't and won't be able to do that. They are stuck in their current positions and have no chance to move deeper into Ukrainian territory," the advisor to the head of the UOC explained.

Responding to the journalist's question, he also noted that direct talks between Zelensky and Putin are getting closer, because this is "the only chance to stop this war."

"That's what we're working on in the peace talks. We are working on documents that the presidents can then discuss and sign," Mikhail Podolyak said.

The adviser to the head of the OP again stressed that the war is not going according to Russia's plan. Therefore, the Russian position has softened considerably, and the delegation stopped talking about ultimatums.

"Our position in the negotiations is quite concrete - legally verified security guarantees; cease-fire; withdrawal of Russian troops," Podolyak added in a comment to the video.
