Since the start of the war started by the Russian Federation, 103 children have been killed and more than 100 wounded in Ukraine. Prosecutor General Irina Venediktova said this on Wednesday, March 16.
"The Russian war against Ukrainian children - 103 killed and more than 100 wounded. The invaders kill at least 5 of our children every day. This morning the official figure crossed the critical and frightening 100 mark. The data are not final - in the hot spots and in the temporarily occupied territories, prosecutors and law enforcement officers have no opportunity to inspect the places of shelling," said Venediktova.
According to the Prosecutor General, the aggressor bombed more than 400 educational institutions, 59 were wiped out.
"Addressed the Special Representative of the UN Secretary-General for Children and Armed Conflict and the Special Representative of the UN Secretary-General on Violence against Children on this matter. It is important that specialized UN agencies decide as soon as possible to implement a mission to assess violations of children's rights in the armed conflict in Ukraine," Venediktova pointed out.
According to the UN, as of March 15, the number of confirmed civilian deaths in Ukraine has risen to 691, including 48 children
