The number of children who died in Gaza in three weeks has exceeded the number of children who died in conflict zones in more than 20 countries over the past three years. This was reported by the international charity organization Save the Children.
According to its data, citing information provided by the Ministries of Health of Gaza and Israel, more than 3,257 children have died since October 7. At the same time, according to the UN Secretary-General's annual reports on children and armed conflict, 2,985 children died in 24 countries in 2022.
"No child in the Gaza Strip is currently safe. The violence is growing, and there is no end in sight. At least 1,000 children have been killed so far. Children have been killed and injured in every major escalation, not to mention suffering serious long-term mental health consequences - they have never emerged unscathed," the organization said in a statement.
