"During the 16 days of the war in Ukraine 79 children have already died and almost 100 wounded. Kiev, Kharkov, Donetsk, Sumy, Kherson and Zhitomir regions suffered the most. This figure is not final due to the lack of possibility to inspect the places of shelling, where the armed forces of the Russian Federation conduct active combat operations," the report says.
It is reported that more than 280 educational institutions have now been destroyed - nine of them completely destroyed. In the Donetsk region 110 educational institutions were damaged, in the Sumy region - 28, in Kiev - 17 and more than 10 establishments of children's medical institutions.
"On average, during the war the occupier destroys 17 educational institutions every day. Therefore, 7 million children are deprived of the opportunity to study because of active hostilities on the territory of Ukraine and the targeted destruction of such institutions," - noted in the message.
It is noted that juvenile prosecutors continue to record all the crimes committed by the Russian armed forces against children.
On March 11, it was reported that, according to the UN Office for Human Rights (OHCHR), at least 549 civilians have been killed in Ukraine since the start of the Russian invasion on February 24.
