Turkey will not join international sanctions against Russia because of its war with Ukraine. Ankara prefers to remain on the side of diplomacy.
This was reported by Sabah.
In particular, Energy and Natural Resources Minister Fatih Donmez responded to a question about whether Turkey will join the gas sanctions against Russia.
"Our president has stated that we do not want to be a party to the sanctions. We have stated that we are on the side of diplomacy. We see that we have no problem with gas," he noted.
We will remind, earlier the press secretary of the President of Turkey Ibrahim Kalin suggested that the meeting of the presidents of Ukraine and Russia can take place. According to him, there are preconditions which suggest that this will happen soon.
