The Ukrainian military and civilians continue to resist the Russian invasion for the seventeenth consecutive day. The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported what the situation in the country was as of 06:00 on March 12.

This was reported by the General Staff of the AFU on Facebook.

"The Ukrainian defense forces are fighting back decently and are holding back the offensive operation of the Russian Armed Forces in all directions. The enemy in the Polessk, Seversk and Yuzhnobuzhsk operational areas has heavy losses in manpower and equipment, stopped and trying to consolidate on the previously captured lines.

In the Donetsk direction during attempts to move forward the occupiers received a decent repulse, and were stopped in some areas, in the rest the enemy significantly reduced the rate of advance.

Thirty-one enemy battalion-tactical groups operating in Ukraine have lost combat effectiveness since the start of hostilities.

According to the results of combat operations, most units of the Russian Armed Forces that had direct fire contact with units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine are demoralized, the moral and psychological state of personnel continues to decline, and cases of surrender by individual groups are recorded. Over the past three days, small groups of enemy deserters have been moving in the direction of the state border.

The Armed Forces of Ukraine in coordinated cooperation with other components of the state security and defense sector and the national resistance forces are holding back the massive offensive of the occupation troops.
