Russia continues shelling civilian infrastructure in Ukrainian cities, and therefore sanctions packages against Russia are not enough. President Volodymyr Zelensky stated this in a video address on Friday.
"At night the occupiers bombed a shoe factory, an apartment building and a kindergarten in Dnipro. For what? How did they threaten the Russian state? Destroyed residential houses in the villages of Sumy region. They continued to torture people from Mariupol and Kharkiv. They fired rockets at Lutsk and Ivano-Frankivsk.
If this continues, it means that the sanctions packages against Russia are not enough. I expect new sanctions decisions from our partners already today. Russia must pay for this terrible war. Pay on a daily basis," the President said.
He also recalled that over the past night and morning, the occupiers conducted a "demilitarization" of the water pipeline in Chernihiv, leaving the city without water.
Because of constant shelling, there is no electricity, heat, gas and water in parts of Sumy, Kiev and Donetsk regions.
"This is a humanitarian disaster. Humanitarian catastrophe are two words that have become a full-fledged synonym for other words. Synonymous with the Russian Federation," said the head of state.
Recall that at night the occupiers struck the Dnieper, Lutsk, and Ivano-Frankivsk.
