Zelensky calls on the West to impose sanctions against Russian energy resources, ships and all Russian banks

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky believes it is necessary for the West to impose sanctions against Russian energy resources, close ports to Russian ships and completely disconnect Russian banks from the SWIFT system.

In an interview with the German newspaper Die Zeit published on Thursday, he said: "If we talk about sanctions, it is primarily oil, oil products and gas. The ports of the world should be closed to Russian ships. Cargo companies should stop sending and receiving cargo from and to Russia. There should be no exceptions for Russian banks to disconnect from SWIFT."

"If we don't do this now, we will have to do more later to save the Baltic states, Moldova, Georgia and other countries-neighbors of Russia-from Russian invasion. It is also very important that Western countries finally decide how to create a humanitarian no-fly zone over Ukraine," he said.
