Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has signed the law on the confiscation of property and facilities of Russia and its residents on the territory of Ukraine. The relevant information was published on the website of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine.

"The President of Ukraine V. Zelensky signed the Law of Ukraine adopted by the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine "On the basic principles of compulsory seizure in Ukraine objects of property rights of the Russian Federation and its residents", the Committee on economic development was defined as the main for its elaboration", - said in the message.

The said law defines the legal basis for the forcible seizure due to social necessity of the objects of property rights (including cases in which it is urgently required by military necessity) of the Russian Federation, as the state that launched a full-scale war against Ukraine, and its residents.

According to the law, the compulsory seizure in Ukraine of the objects of property rights of the Russian Federation and its residents is carried out without any compensation (reimbursement) of their value, given the full-scale war of aggression that the Russian Federation unleashed and conducts against Ukraine and the Ukrainian people.

Earlier, Vladimir Zelensky also signed laws to increase responsibility for treason and looting.
