The U.S. is in talks with Poland about the possibility of giving Ukraine MiG and SU aircraft that Ukrainian pilots can fly, U.S. Secretary of State Anthony Blinken said.
"So, as we're talking, we're working with Poland to see if we can make up for whatever they provide to the Ukrainians. We're very supportive of them providing Ukrainians with MiGs, SUs - aircraft that Ukrainians can fly," Blinken said in a CNN interview made public on the U.S. State Department website.
He also stressed that the U.S. is considering options to compensate Poland for the aircraft transferred to Ukraine.
"But we also want to see if we can be helpful, as I said, in making sure that whatever they provide to the Ukrainians is compensated, to make up for any security gap Poland might have. We're actively talking about that right now," the secretary of state stressed.
