In the Sumy Region, the Russian military seized one of the villages of the Trostyanets cluster and created a "human shield" of civilians in order to shelter their S-300 surface-to-air missile system deployed in the settlement.

This is reported by the head of the Sumy regional military administration Dmytro Zhivitsky.

In the captured village of Trostyanets community of Akhtyrsky district on March 5, the occupants deployed tanks along the main street and near the nearby, almost every yard.

"The Russian army created a 'human shield' of villagers, according to our information made to guard the deployed S-300 system," he said.

S-300 medium-range surface-to-air missile systems are designed to directly cover troops close to the enemy, primarily ballistic missiles and aircraft and also various other targets. The maximum range of such SAMs can be 150, 200 or 300 km, depending on the specific type of installation and the interceptor missiles.

"We are constantly working on the organization of "green corridors" for the evacuation of civilians from the entire area! From all the dangerous places in Sumshchina!" - emphasizes the head of the OVA.

Earlier it was reported that the town of Trostyanets in the Sumy region, which was seized and occupied by the Russian army, is on the verge of a humanitarian disaster.
