Russia's position in the negotiations is tough, but Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky will definitely not make any concessions that could belittle the state's fight for territorial integrity and freedom. This was stated by Mikhail Podolyak, adviser to the head of the Office of the President.
"The position of the Russian Federation is tough. It is understandable. If they had it soft, they would not have attacked Ukraine. But the position of the Supreme Commander-in-Chief of Ukraine and Ukraine as a whole is also tough. Therefore the negotiations will go hard. But they will go ... Zelensky definitely will not make any concessions that can somehow humiliate our struggle that is being waged today in Ukraine for its territorial integrity and freedom," Podolyak said at a joint press conference with the head of the parliamentary faction "Servant of the People" David Arahamia on "The war of Russia against Ukraine" in the Lviv Regional State Administration.
He also stressed that Zelensky absolutely clearly understands all the limits that Ukraine can and cannot go to when talking to Russia.
Podolyak also added that Ukraine's position in the negotiation process is strengthened by its Western partners and also understands the motives of the representatives of the Russian delegation.
"The Ukrainian delegation clearly understands the psychological state of those with whom we work, what their goals are, what intellectual foundations they rely on, that is, what they understand about Ukraine and what they do not. We, in principle, are comfortable enough to work, understanding the motives of the Russian Federation," he said.
