The NATO foreign ministers today discussed the introduction of a no-fly zone over Ukraine, but they do not want to send their aircraft into Ukrainian airspace. This was stated at a press conference after an extraordinary meeting of the North Atlantic Council by NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg, writes UNN.

"The no-fly zone was mentioned. At the same time, the allies agreed that we should not have NATO aircraft operating over Ukrainian airspace or NATO troops on Ukrainian territory," the secretary general said.

Earlier, Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba said that he would take part in a meeting of NATO foreign ministers, where he would raise the issue of closing the skies over Ukraine.

Earlier, a petition on the OpenUp website asking NATO to close the sky over Ukraine gathered a sufficient number of signatures.
