There were no civilian casualties or injured as a result of the shelling of the Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant, said Energodar Mayor Dmitry Orlov.
"There are no casualties or victims among unarmed civilians," Orlov said in a video message.
According to him, the fourth power unit is at the nuclear power plant and works without remarks, as do the units of the thermal power plant.
"In the training center of the Zaporizhzhia nuclear plant, the fire has been eliminated," the mayor of Energodar added.
In a telephone conversation with VSU, Energodar Mayor Dmitry Orlov noted that an evacuation plan in case of an accident at the Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant is ready, but no one has been evacuated yet.
One power unit out of six is operating.
ZNPP personnel monitors the condition of the power units and ensures their operation in accordance with the requirements of technological regulations for safe operation.
At the moment the Zaporizhzhia NPP site is occupied by military forces of the Russian Federation. Throughout Zaporizhzhya region the situation is tense and complicated.
The actions of Russian occupation troops are a direct violation of the Hague and Geneva Conventions.
