Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky advocates full-fledged negotiations with the Kremlin, says Mykhail Podolyak, advisor to the head of the Office of the President.
"The Russians' lie that their forces allegedly had orders to stop is refuted by the very reality the whole world saw on Friday night. And this morning. The fighting was brutal, at maximum intensity. Precisely because President Zelensky categorically does not accept any conditions or ultimatums that are unacceptable to Ukraine. Only full-fledged negotiations," says Mykhail Podolyak, adviser to the head of the President's Office, in FB.
He noted that any war inevitably ends with negotiations. According to him, Ukraine has heard the negotiating position outlined in Moscow.
"They know our view of the negotiating format and our position. So their comments that we seem to have abandoned the negotiations are just part of their tactics. They are trying to bring the negotiations to a standstill before they even begin. Clearly, a different approach is needed. Negotiations should be based on common sense and be such that a fair solution can be worked out in the interests of the people and the national statehood of Ukraine. The Ukrainians have proven through their resistance that it is an unrealistic ambition to drive us into a dead end," Podolyak said.
We shall remind you that the press secretary of the Russian president, Dmitriy Peskov, accused the Ukrainian side of refusing to negotiate with Moscow. According to the Kremlin spokesman, for this reason the operations of the Russian Armed Forces resumed: "This afternoon the advance of the main forces of the Russian Armed Forces continued.
"Yesterday afternoon, in connection with the expected negotiations with the Ukrainian leadership, Putin gave the order to suspend the advance of the main forces of the Russian troops. Fighting continued in a number of places, and there were clashes with groups of nationalists and Banderaists who used cars. In fact, the Ukrainian side refused to negotiate, and this afternoon the movement of the main Russian forces resumed in accordance with the plan of the operation," he said. This was reported by the Ekho Kavkaza.
