Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky says that in the case of full-scale military aggression by the Russian Federation, martial law will be imposed in Ukraine.
"As far as martial law is concerned, it is a very simple question for us: we believe that there will not be a powerful war against Ukraine and there will not be a broad escalation on the part of the Russian Federation. If there is, martial law will be implemented," Zelensky said at a joint briefing with Estonian President Alar Karis in Kiev on Tuesday.
The Ukrainian president also notes that Russia's recognition of the "L/DPR" is the basis for further Russian armed aggression against Ukraine.
"By recognizing the so-called L/DNR, Russia creates legal grounds for armed aggression against Ukraine, while violating all bilateral and multilateral obligations - the UN Security Council Resolution on Ukraine of February 17, 2015," Zelensky said at a joint briefing with Estonian President Alar Karis.
He also added that the Russian escalation around Ukraine was an unprecedented challenge to the world at large.
