Shchastia city in Luhansk region is de-energized, without water supply and heat - DTEK

The city of Schastia was de-energized due to the disconnection of the only operating unit of the Luhansk thermal power plant from the power lines at 13:10, and its water and heat supply was also suspended, the DTEK press service reported.

"Today, as a result of the shelling of the territory near the town of Schastia, power lines were damaged. Because of this, the city, the utility and water pumping stations were de-energized, and the city's water supply was cut off. A section of the heating network near the water pumping station was also damaged, which led to the stoppage of heat supply," the statement reads.

Employees and the main technological equipment of Lutskaya TPP were not injured. The power engineers are waiting for the shelling to stop in order to carry out work on the resumption of the plant's operation.

The administration of Luhansk TPP decided to minimize the presence of employees at the TPP and their going out to the open territory without acute production necessity.

"Employee safety is a key priority for us. DTEK keeps the situation under control and synchronizes its actions with NEC Ukrenergo and the Military and Civil Administration for a productive solution to the problem and supply consumers with electricity," the company summarized.

As reported, the head of the Luhansk Regional State Administration, Serhiy Gaidai, reported that the Luhansk thermal power plant shut down due to damage to all power lines departing from it.

Earlier, he reported that the village of Vrubovka and the town of Shchastia were under fire from Russian mercenaries, the infrastructure was damaged, and there was no access for repair crews to restore it yet.

In his turn, the distribution system operator, Luhansk Energy Association LLC, reported that due to the shutdown of the plant, the reliability of power supply to consumers in the northern part of the region was significantly reduced.
