A summit between Russian President Vladimir Putin and U.S. President Joe Biden is not expected in the near future. This was stated by Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov.
"No, there are no specific plans [for the summit] in this regard yet," the Kremlin spokesman stressed.As Peskov explained, there is now an understanding that contacts will continue between Russia and the United States at the level of foreign ministers.
"We proceed from the fact that a meeting between Lavrov and his American counterpart is possible this week," Peskov said.According to the Russian presidential spokesman, contacts between Russian and French government representatives are not ruled out.
In the future, the presidents of Russia and the United States, if necessary, may decide on contacts, Peskov concluded.
