Pentagon chief still sees no signs of Russian troop withdrawal from Ukraine

The U.S., as in previous days, now sees no signs of Russian troops withdrawing from the border with Ukraine, Pentagon chief Lloyd Austin said Friday.

"So far, we haven't seen any indication that they are withdrawing troops," he said at a news conference in Poland.

Austin said the U.S. "continues to see signs that Russia continues to pull forces into the area (to the border with Ukraine - IF).

"We see that they continue to prepare: moving closer to the border, dispersing troops, building up their capabilities in terms of logistics," he added.

"All indications are that they will retain the capability to launch an attack at almost any time," Austin added.
