Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan offered Russian President Vladimir Putin and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky a trilateral meeting in Istanbul. The decision is up to the Russian leader.This was reported by CNN Turk.
He said the likelihood of a trilateral meeting of the presidents of Turkey, Russia and Ukraine in Ankara or Istanbul in case of a positive response from Putin.
"Zelensky said during our meeting with him that he was positive about the idea of a trilateral meeting. If Mr. Putin is as positive on this issue, I hope we can meet in Istanbul or Ankara. In the meantime, I want to find out from him how he looks at it in phone conversations with him," Erdogan said.
According to him, a real war in the region is a "bad sign."
As a reminder, Erdogan earlier suggested that the two leaders organize a meeting in Turkey. Moreover, he said he had reached an agreement and was now deciding on a date.
