Russia announces the end of exercises in Crimea

The press service of the Russian Defense Ministry reported the end of the exercises in Crimea and the return of troops of the Southern Military District that had taken part in them to their places of permanent deployment. One train has already crossed the Kerch Bridge.

"Subunits of the Southern Military District, which have completed their participation in tactical exercises at the Crimean Peninsula training grounds, are marching to their permanent deployment points by rail. A train with military equipment ... crossed the Crimean bridge," the statement said.

The ministry reported that the units took tanks, infantry fighting vehicles and self-propelled artillery units.

It is reported that upon arrival at the permanent deployment points the equipment will be serviced and prepared for the next stage of combat training.

After the exercise, individual units will march on their own as part of military columns.

The Defense Ministry reported that the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation are continuing "a complex set of large-scale measures for the operational training of troops and forces, in which practically all military districts, fleets and airborne troops are taking part.
