Belbek airfield was attacked in Crimea: details

As a result of the attack on Crimea last night on May 15, two MiG-31 aircraft, a S-400 anti-aircraft system and a fuel depot were destroyed. This was reported by the Russian opposition publication ASTRA.


According to the media, the Belbek military airfield near Sevastopol was attacked.


“As a result of the missile attack, two Russian MiG-31 fighter-interceptors were destroyed. A fuel and lubricant depot was also burned down. 11 soldiers were injured,” the report said.


Also, according to the publication, a Russian S-400 Triumph air defense system was attacked near the village of Vyshneve (about 70 km from Belbek).

“After the attack, the complex caught fire, two servicemen were killed and two others were injured,” the publication said.


The Russian Defense Ministry reported on the ATACMS missile attack on Crimea. They claim to have shot down five missiles and two drones. 


The Ukrainian Armed Forces did not officially confirm the attack.
