U.S. and French Presidents Joe Biden and Emmanuel Macron had a telephone conversation. It took place after the latter's visits to Kiev and Moscow. The outcome is briefly reported on the website of the White House. The parties discussed Macron's talks with the presidents of Ukraine and Russia.
The French president and the American leader also touched on Ukraine and Russian escalation around its borders.
"They talked about diplomacy and deterrence efforts in response to Russia's continued military build-up near Ukraine's borders," the statement said.
For her part, White House Speaker Jen Psaki pointed out at the briefing that this was the third phone conversation between Macron and Biden in a week. She noted that the US president intends to hold more talks with the European leaders in the near future.
