Putin rejected Macrons accusations that Russia on one hand violated the territorial integrity of Ukraine and on another hand reproach NATO’s expansion.
"Yes, Mr. President did it, and he said during the conversation, and Emmanuel barely will angry with me… he said: “You self violated the territorial integrity. You took on certain obligations, starting from 1975, the Helsinki Act and so on, and the last document was adopted in 2010 in Astana, which speaks of equal security for all. You cannot create a safe environment by violating the safety of others. You yourself have violated the territorial integrity. This is an acute issue for Ukraine," Putin said at a pressconference in Moscow.
President Putin refused to accept the charges.
"Have we carried out any operations in the Crimea or somewhere else with a normal country and with a normal government? No. Never did it. We didn't even have it in their heads. But why did Western countries support the coup? From now on, for us, power is in Ukraine, the source of power is a coup d'etat, and not the will of the people," Putin said.
