French President Emmanuel Macron on Monday arrived in Moscow for a meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin, writes UNN.
Macron's arrival in the Russian capital was reported by a number of French journalists.
According to the CGTN television channel, the French president expressed cautious optimism upon arrival ahead of talks that will touch on the situation around the Ukrainian borders.
"I am quite optimistic, but I don't believe in spontaneous miracles," Macron told reporters shortly after landing in Moscow.
Earlier, Macron said he believed a visit to Moscow would help begin to de-escalate the situation around Ukraine.
As Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba confirmed today, the French leader will travel to Kiev after his visit to Moscow.
