Ukrainian business benefits at least 10 billion UAH annually from a free trade zone with Turkey - Denis Shmygal

95% of Ukrainian goods will be imported into the territory of Turkey without payment of duty - it is more than 10 thousand commodity items. This was stated by Prime Minister Denis Shmygal after the conclusion of a free trade agreement between Ukraine and the Republic of Turkey. This is reported by the Government Portal.

 

"The event, towards which our countries have been moving for almost 20 years, has happened. Agreement opens up significant benefits for Ukrainian business: it benefits from it at least 10 billion UAH a year ", - Prime Minister said.

 

Denis Shmygal said that a free trade zone with Turkey would finally open the Turkish market for Ukrainian metal, which would have a positive impact on the development of the Ukrainian industry. At the same time, Ukraine reserved the right to apply an export duty on the export of scrap metal.

 

"The agreement simultaneously opens up opportunities and protects the interests of both countries", - stressed the head of the Ukrainian government.

 

According to Prime Minister, the agreements concluded with Turkey will also contribute to the development of machine building and defense industry in Ukraine.

 

Agreement on cooperation in high technology, aerospace industries, which was also concluded on February 3, provides for the construction of a factory for the production of military drones "Bayraktar" in Ukraine.

 

As Denis Shmygal noted, first of all it will be a plant to service drones already in service in Ukraine with the further development of their production. High localization of production, according to him, will allow to assemble high-tech products in Ukraine with a significant amount of jobs.
