Croatian President Accused Britain of Inciting Ukraine to Confront Russia

Croatian President Zoran Milanovic accused Great Britain of "incitement," saying it was stirring up conflict between Russia and Ukraine. He called for an agreement with the Russian side, because without it there can allegedly be no stability in Europe. Euractiv reports that.

"Britain is misleading Ukraine, inciting it and holding hostage the relationship between London, which represents a minor power, and Washington...Russia is a factor in this equation, we need a deal with Russia," Milanovic said.

He also accused London of allegedly "misleading Ukraine," pushing and holding hostage the relationship between Britain, which he said "has become a secondary power," and the United States.

Asked by a reporter why he did not meet with British Defense Secretary Ben Wallace, the president told reporters that he does not meet with defense ministers.

"I don't even know what to call it. I meet, perhaps, with foreign affairs, perhaps Russia, America. I have nothing to talk about with ministers, especially the United Kingdom. I don't meet with defense ministers, except the superpowers. The United Kingdom has left the EU, and that makes it less important," Milanovic added.
