On Wednesday, February 2, Prime Minister of the Netherlands Mark Rutte arrived in Ukraine on a working visit. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has already held a meeting with him.
According to the press service of the Office of the President, after the conclusion of the talks, the head of state and the Prime Minister of the Netherlands held a meeting with representatives of the media. The topic of the conversation was de-escalation near Ukraine's borders.
During the press conference, Zelensky said: "We think only about peace, and about the de-occupation of territories, and only in a peaceful way. We will not give up a single piece of our land, we will not give up our territories".
In addition, the guarantor noted the strengthening of the national currency which has been observed for several days in a row.
The President also said that he fully supported the reaction of the head of the faction "Servant of the People," David Arahamia and the MPs of the "SN" to the video of MP Alexander Trukhin, which caused a significant resonance.
In his turn, Rutte said that further Russian aggression against Ukraine will have serious consequences. The politician believes that the only solution to de-escalation in eastern Ukraine is diplomacy and dialogue.
"All efforts must be applied to de-escalation and de-tension. I believe that the only solution to de-escalation is diplomacy and dialogue, which must continue between Russia and the United States, Russia and NATO and between the Normandy format countries: Ukraine, Germany and France," Rutte said at a briefing.
In addition, according to the Prime Minister, the Netherlands is doing everything possible to bring to justice those responsible for the crash of MN-17.
Also Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said that Ukraine and the Netherlands are planning to implement a joint program for the construction of 48 rehabilitation centers for military personnel and veterans.
"Positive is the cooperation of our countries in the field of health care. We want to develop this direction separately. We have a separate program. I know that the Prime Minister of the Netherlands discussed it with Prime Minister Denis Shmygal. We want to (implement - IF) it together with the Netherlands and the Ministry of Health - regarding the construction of 48 modern hospitals and rehabilitation centers for our military and veterans," Zelensky said at a briefing with Prime Minister Mark Rutte in Kiev.
