The Kiev Pechersky District Court on January 19 is expected to decide on a preventive measure for ex-President Petro Poroshenko, an MP.
At the previous meeting on January 17, which was held immediately after Poroshenko's return to Ukraine from Warsaw and lasted 11 hours with interruptions, no decision was made.
The court session is scheduled for 14:00. The case is being considered by judge Oleksiy Sokolov, who was appointed to the position by Poroshenko's decree of 2017. However, Sokolov still has not passed the qualification assessment under the judicial reform of the previous President.
Prosecutors are asking for a measure of restraint for Petro Poroshenko in the form of arrest with an alternative to the payment of 1 billion UAH bail.
They also ask the court to oblige the politician not to leave Kiev, surrender his foreign passports, inform the investigator about changes in his place of residence and wear an electronic bracelet.
