In a water park in Khmelnitsky region 16 children were poisoned by chlorine vapor

In Khmelnitsky region 16 children were poisoned by chlorine vapors in a water park. This was reported in the Center of Public Health of the Ministry of Health.

 

It is noted that according to the Vinnytsia Regional Centre for Disease Control and Prevention, January 6, 2022 inhalation poisoning by chlorine was recorded in 16 children from the Vinnytsia region, who had been in the water park in Khmelnytsky.

 

According to the official report, 50 residents of Turbov village (Vinnitsa region), including 34 children aged 2 to 7 years old, visited the entertainment complex during their holiday in Letychiv village.

 

After visiting the water park, 16 children showed signs of acute poisoning - lacrimation, coughing, shortness of breath of varying severity. All of them received medical care in Vinnitsa Regional Children's Clinical Hospital, after which 13 children went home, 3 more children were hospitalized in Pediatric Department and Department of Anesthesiology and Intensive Care.

 

"The preliminary cause of poisoning specialists of the Vinnitsa Regional Center for Disease Control and Prevention call exceeding the allowable time of continuous stay in the premises where substances for disinfection are used, because children were in the water park from 08:30 to 16:30," - said in the message.
