US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken had a telephone conversation with Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of the United Arab Emirates. The conversation concerned, in particular, Russia's troop buildup near Ukraine's borders.
This was reported by RBC-Ukraine, citing Blinken's Twitter post.
"Talked today with UAE Foreign Minister Abdullah bin Zayed about Russia's military build-up near Ukraine's borders and other important bilateral and regional issues," the US foreign minister wrote.
According to the State Department, the sides also touched on other issues, including developments in Yemen, Ethiopia and Sudan.
In addition, Blinken congratulated the UAE on winning a seat as a non-permanent member of the UN Security Council earlier this year.
Earlier it was reported that Blinken and the Bucharest Nine discussed the situation on the Ukrainian border.
