In January 2022 Ukraine will have two periods of long weekends at once because of the celebration of the New Year and Christmas.
January 1, Ukraine celebrates the New Year with the rest of the world on Saturday. Because of this, the day off will be automatically moved to Monday, January 3 (in accordance with the Labor Code). Therefore, Ukrainians will have three days off in a row in the first week of 2022: January 1, 2, and 3 (Saturday, Sunday, and Monday).
And on January 7, the Orthodox Church of Ukraine, as well as Ukrainian Greek Catholics, will celebrate Christmas. This is Friday, which will be a day off in Ukraine. Therefore, three more consecutive weekends fall on January 7, 8 and 9, 2022 (Friday, Saturday, Sunday).
The other weekends in the first month of 2022 will be regular calendar days: January 15-16, January 22-23, January 29-30.
In January 2022, there will be 12 days off in Ukraine: 1, 2, 3, 7, 8, 9, 15, 16, 22, 23, 29 and 30. The remaining 19 days of January are working days.
