Pechersky district court approved the detention of Petro Poroshenko. About it, citing a source in law enforcement agencies, writes Telegram channel "Ukrainian News".

It is noted that the decision was made this morning as part of the case under investigation by the GBI on suspicion of treason.

"The court gave its consent to the detention of Poroshenko in order to bring him to court to consider the application for a measure of restraint in the form of detention," - writes the channel.

In addition, the edition "Glavcom" reports that the Office of the Prosecutor General signed the arrest of Poroshenko.

"Acting Prosecutor General Oleksiy Simonenko has signed a petition for the arrest of the former President and leader of the "European Solidarity" Petro Poroshenko and bail in the amount of 1 billion hryvnias," - reports the edition.

Glavkom learned about this from three separate sources close to the Office of the Prosecutor General.

At the same time, Prosecutor General Irina Venediktova is also in Kiev. But, according to the sources, she is now on vacation.

Recall, Petro Poroshenko is currently on a working visit to Europe. He promised to return to Ukraine in mid-January.
