The Government at a meeting on December 23 approved a number of documents systematically bringing Ukraine closer to the integration into European markets and introducing the best rules of the European Union. This was announced by Prime Minister Denis Shmygal.
As the head of the government stressed, the overall progress of implementation of the Association Agreement for 2021 has already increased to 61%, reports Government Portal.
"This year we have managed to do a lot in the direction of European integration. We have started a substantive dialogue on updating customs tariffs in order to improve access of Ukrainian goods to European markets. This year we have also stepped up cooperation on the implementation of the European Green Deal in Ukraine, "- Denis Shmygal said.
According to Prime Minister, this year 37 bills on European integration have been adopted in different readings. The Government has also approved 51 acts aimed at implementing the Agreement on Association.
During the meeting, the Government, in particular, changed the composition of the Commission for the Implementation of the Association Agreement. The Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada will now co-chair the commission together with the Prime Minister, and the Deputy Head of the Office of the President will become deputy chairman of the commission together with the Vice Prime Minister for European and Euro-Atlantic integration.
"This will allow all the higher authorities to unite their efforts systematically and demonstrate that for our team and for our state the movement to Europe is a defining vector of foreign and domestic policy", - Denis Shmygal stressed.
