The Ukrainian army is ready for the invasion of the Russian Federation troops. But at the same time, there is no other scenario than a political and diplomatic solution to the situation.
This is reported by RBC-Ukraine with reference to the statement of the Deputy Prime Minister for European and Euro-Atlantic integration Olga Stefanyshina in the air of "Svoboda Slova" on ICTV.
The Deputy Prime Minister said that at the Eastern Partnership summit held on December 15, the issue of Ukraine was discussed for about three hours, sanctions were agreed upon among other things. European leaders are united with Ukraine in their assessment of the situation, the number of troops and that the threat is real, Stephanishina said.
"For our part, we inform that our armed forces are ready for it. At the same time, we understand that there is no other scenario than a political and diplomatic solution to the situation," she added.
Stefanishina quoted a fragment from the Charter on Special Partnership, which is celebrating its 25th anniversary.
"We gave Russia all guarantees back in 1997, but that did not deter it from this aggression. Therefore, we hope that in Madrid this year, in addition to finding elements of diplomatic pressure, we will reach a new stage of our movement in NATO," said the Deputy Prime Minister.
