Ukraine has enough energy resources to pass the heating season, noted Prime Minister Denis Shmygal.
"As of mid-December, we have more than 15 billion cubic meters of gas in storage. This is absolutely enough to provide blue fuel for people, public utilities and industrial consumers," - he said, opening a government meeting on Wednesday.
Also, he said, "typical scare stories about the fact that we are to run out of coal by the winter, are just another hoax.
Prime Minister said, referring to the Ministry of Energy, that in December it is expected about 2 million tons of Ukrainian and imported coal, while the projected consumption of 1.7 million tons.
He also pointed out that work on the development of domestic production is intensified, which requires, among other things, to ensure the repayment of all wage debts to miners.
"According to the Minister of Energy, more than 700 million UAH will be allocated for this purpose," said Shmygal.
"Thus, the heating season is stable, there are enough energy resources, and tariffs for the population, as we promised, will not rise," summed up the Prime Minister.
