According to the results of the investigation into the situation with the departure of Mikhail Saakashvili from Ukraine to Georgia, a number of officials of the units and bodies of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine have been brought to disciplinary responsibility. This was announced by the Assistant to the Chairman of the State Border Service of Ukraine - spokesman Andriy Demchenko.
Demchenko recalled that at the end of September, the administration of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine conducted an official investigation into the circumstances of the possible illegal crossing of the state border by a citizen of Ukraine Saakashvili.
According to him, for the duration of the investigation, officials from among the senior staff of the border unit of the border detachment of the Southern regional directorate were suspended from performing the tasks of their positions.
"I cannot reveal all the details of the investigation, because the materials contain information with limited access, but I will note that they have been sent to the relevant body of pre-trial investigation, which opened criminal proceedings on this fact. I would like to add that based on the results of the investigation, a number of officials from the above-mentioned units and bodies of the State Security Service of Ukraine have been brought to disciplinary responsibility," the interlocutor said.
