The National Commission, which regulates the energy and utilities sector (NCREUS), decided on December 9 to transfer customers of the "last resort" supplier to the basic tariff of Naftogaz of Ukraine. This will allow 350 thousand households to pay 7.96 hryvnia per cubic meter.

This is reported by RBC-Ukraine with reference to the press service of the NCREUS.

According to the NCREUS, today the supplier of "last hope" supplies natural gas to more than 347 thousand household consumers from different regions of Ukraine and now there is a trend of rapid increase of the price of natural gas.

Earlier Naftogaz of Ukraine proposed to automatically transfer all clients to the basic annual tariff (7.96 hryvnia). This solution for residential customers who have not chosen a market supplier and receive gas from a supplier of "last resort" was made possible by the law on the introduction of metering and calculation of gas volume in units of energy on the natural gas market.

State Company "Naftogaz of Ukraine" appealed to the NKREKU about the connection of all household customers PPN on terms of the basic annual offer.

Recall that the gas company "Naftogaz of Ukraine", which performs the functions of the supplier of last resort (PUP), set the price of gas for households at 46.7 hryvnia per cubic meter on December 2, 2021. Since December, prices have been set daily according to a formula approved by the Cabinet of Ministers. As of December 8, the price was 46.2 hryvnia.
