Governments of Ukraine and the Republic of Croatia deepen bilateral cooperation

As a result of the visit of Croatian Prime Minister Andrej Plenkovic to Kiev five joint documents were signed. This was announced by the Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmygal, the Government Portal reported.

"The Ukrainian government is determined to develop a mutually beneficial partnership with Croatia and will make every effort to further remove barriers in our bilateral relations," the head of the Ukrainian government stressed.

Thus, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and Croatian Prime Minister Andrej Plenkovic signed a joint Declaration on the European perspective of Ukraine. The Declaration defines priority directions of cooperation between Ukraine and Croatia within the strategic course of our state to obtain full membership in the European Union.

In addition, during the second meeting of the Joint Ukrainian-Croatian intergovernmental commission on economic cooperation was made:

- Agreement on cooperation between the State Archive Service of Ukraine and the State Archive of the Republic of Croatia. This will ensure equal rights of access to archival documents for Ukrainian and Croatian researchers. The signing of the Agreement has a positive impact on the further intensification and development of professional, scientific and cultural relations between Ukraine and the Republic of Croatia.

- Memorandum of Understanding between the Ministry of Infrastructure of Ukraine and the Ministry of Maritime, Transport and Infrastructure of the Republic of Croatia on cooperation in the field of railway transport.

- Memorandum of Understanding on cooperation in the field of metrology between the Ministry of Economy of Ukraine and the State Bureau of Metrology of the Republic of Croatia. The exchange of information and best practices of Croatia will contribute to the implementation by Ukraine of the provisions of the Association Agreement in terms of technical barriers to trade and preparations for the conclusion of the ACAA Agreement.

Also signed was the Action Plan of the Working Group between Ukraine and Croatia for the next 2 years, which, in particular, provides for the exchange of experience with Croatia on the reintegration of temporarily occupied territories, rehabilitation of veterans and internally displaced persons, mine action and strengthening national security.
