Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky believes that the fact of the conversation between US President Joseph Biden and Russian President Vladimir Putin, one of the main topics of which was the situation in Donbas and near the borders of our country, was positive.
Responding to questions from the media, Volodymyr Zelensky noted that he will comment on the details of these talks after his phone conversation with Joseph Biden, which is scheduled for December 9, according to the Official Internet Office of the President of Ukraine.
"I think Ukraine's victory is that the United States has always supported Ukraine, our sovereignty, our independence, we had bipartisan support. But most importantly, we now see that there is a personal, real reaction and the role of President Biden in resolving this conflict, the war in the east of our state", - stressed Volodymyr Zelensky.
The president noted that the Ukrainian government is using all possible means to stop the war in Donbas as soon as possible, to return its people and temporarily occupied territories.
In particular, Volodymyr Zelensky noted that a meeting of the Trilateral Contact Group was held today via videoconference.
"Everyone knows that on the territory controlled by the Ukrainian authorities, these checkpoints are fully ready, all administrative services, everything is at the highest European level. We expect that on the other side, on the side of the occupation troops, there will also be an opening for people to cross this territory. Especially now, before Christmas and New Year's holidays. It is very important from the point of view of the humanitarian component," the President said.
The head of state noted that these issues, in particular, were discussed during the conversation between the presidents of the United States and Russia at the initiative of the American side.
"That is, we find any ways and believe that no matter how long or short the path, it will lead to a real result," stressed Volodymyr Zelensky.
